Regina Spektor “Laughing With” video
do yourself a favor and watch the beautiful new video from Regina Spektor. Im completely excited for the new record that will be released on June 23rd titled “far”. The track itself isn’t my favorite of the 5 songs I’ve heard so far. BUT, if this video is any indication, her viral videos will be just as brilliant.
also be sure to check out her performance of “blue lips” on Jools Holland. this is one of my favorite tracks that ive hears so far:
No commentsWhite Rabbit
Last night we played this place in San Antonio called the White Rabbit, right? They have the most ass backwards merch set up I’ve ever seen. They shove the poor merch workers (ie Me and Adam) into the sticky sauna that is the courtyard to sell shirts in the wind. Honestly, its uncomfortable, there is little interaction with most of the guests and we weren’t able to see any of the show. It was pretty fuckin’ lame. The only positive thing was that since we were outside we were actually able to speak without yelling. Needless to say I didnt have too much fun outside, but I did get to meet some cool people there.
The venue itself is tagged with all sorts of artwork by an artist named Soup. Obviously a lot of them will be rabbit themed since the venue is indeed called The White Rabbit. As such, Soup was really into the artwork that TBM does for their website and liner notes. He took a shine to the new design on the girls shirt, the girl hanging from the balloons, and mentioned maybe wanting to put it up on the wall sometime. To everyone’s surprise, he began working on it almost immediately. He took a picture with his phone and from that he freehanded the rest of the work and within hours it was completed.

Texas is sweltering. After a mild summer in chicago last year and the last few months in a non humid area of the country, I forgot how horrendous humidity feels. It is not missed.
Everyone took part in an epic game of hackey sack in front of the hotel last night. It was EPIC. We are all grossly out of practice but managed to have a ton of successful hacks. We even took a moment for outfit changes! Rowan and Falcore stole the show, with their elegant grasshopper legs. There must be photos of the next round, I will be sure to take some to share with you guys!

No commentsNight out in Orlando
Hey! Today we have a day off in Texas (yay!) and I will update a little show info including merch prices and a set list during the next two days. I have a lot to catch up with for pictures and stuff so I will hopefully be able to work on it tonight and tomorrow.
Last nights show was interesting, whoever decided to have a show at 4:30 in the afternoon? There was a decent sized crowd but they were very non responsive during songs. Inbetween songs they expressed enjoyment but other than that it was an odd show for me to watch from the sidelines. I am Ghost had a friend come in and work their merch table for the night, Rosanna, and she was completely rad! She went on stage to fill in some nice backing vocals for I Am Ghost during 2 songs. It was a nice throwback to the days when they had a female in the band. I know very little about it other than the beautiful harmonies in the back track of one of their live songs. Either way, it was a nice change up for their set.
Afterwards we had some time to hang out with the boys in Dommin for dinner. If you haven’t taken a look at their myspace page, you should take a quick listen to get a feel for the music they write but be prepared to have their performance blow you away. They didnt strike me as being a band I would like until I saw them perform. Chris’ vocals feel more real in person. Just wait til you see it for yourself.
We tried to get all 3 bands out to the same place for dinner but the chosen meeting place had changed locations. So we had a nice mile long trek to a newly relocated Tijuana Flatts in Orlando, enjoyed some fantastic mexican food and a nice walk along a man made pond. We grabbed some drinks at a bar down the road from the venue, where everyone cut loose and relaxed. Chad was the entertainment of the night, dancing his ass off to the AMAZING local 80’s cover band. Some woman in a taco suit danced with him for a few steps. I really hope some of it is on video.
No commentsTour Bubble
I have been a serious slacker and I apologize!
On tour, you find you are in your own bubble of space and very little of the outside world exists. Hence my lack of communication with EVERYone
Last night we played a bitchin venue in Atlanta. Its like a stone castle, we played the “Hell Stage” in the basement, while a Norwegian Viking Metal band playing upstairs. We met a few of the musicians in those bands and they were surprisingly nice. Not the meat head metal heads here, they actually can appreciate music outside of their genre scope. Genre scope probably doesnt even make sense to anyone outside of my own head but I think you get my point. I was super stoked because one of my best friends drove out to the show to hang out for a bit before and then she kept me company at the merch booth. All three bands were one happy merch family, Adam (Dommin’s merchman) was selling for me, I ended up selling for I am Ghost and I am Ghost … well, they dropped the ball :oP Afterwards, adventure club climbed around on the bizarre rusted metal object outside of the venue before taking off to Orlando.
Todays show is early as hell, it starts @ 4:30. How does that even happen?
