I saw Metric play for the first time during the Myspace Hey Play This taping at Center Staging the day before. I was supposed to trek down to San Diego to the HOB show the day before but opted out as soon as i found out i was lucky enough to be selected for the Myspace taping. The taping itself was extremely intimate- there were less than 30 people sitting on crates around the area where the band was. I was two feet away from Josh (bass player) the whole time. I could see him play every cord. Probably one of the most memorable music experiences I’ve had simply because i will never be that close again. The performance was a bit odd- it was hard for the crowd to get into the performance because the space was cramped and uncomfortable. My legs kept on falling asleep because we were sitting on the metal cases to store gear. On top of that, everyone was surrounded by cameras so we didn’t have any room to really move or rock out. But, i got the opportunity to hear some news songs that i haven’t heard before. They played:

I really love the songs “Freddy” and “Give Me Sympathy”.
